Talisman Limited has discontinued its online Malaria Map of the World, effective February 1, 2010. When we began this project in 2007, we wanted to demonstrate the power of combining the malaria risk information in the CDC "Yellow Book" with the elegance and ease of use of Google Maps. This website went live in July 2007. In the last year, the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention has released its own improved online Malaria Map Application (http://cdc-malaria.ncsa.uiuc.edu/) which does the same thing as our application. Based on the availability of online maps from CDC, we see no need for a similar service. Thank you to all who have used our malaria map service over the past two years and especially to those of you who have provided us with your feedback. We suggest that you switch to using the CDC Malaria Maps (http://cdc-malaria.ncsa.uiuc.edu/).
